OPTIMUM SYNTHESIS OF FUNCTION-GENERATING SLIDER-CRANK MECHANISM BASED ON CLOSED-FORM SOLUTION USING FIVE DESIGN PARAMETERS

Kinematic dimensional synthesis is one of the essential steps during process design. It classified into three tasks: function generation, path and motion generation. In this paper, a design method presented to solve slider-crank mechanism for generation based on closed-form solution with five parameters. The success criterion used depends structural error within an operational domain mechanism. reduction related number parameters utilized in synthesis, effective maximum five. study, found using methods: precision point method, sub-domain galerkin method. system equations reduced twelfth-degree univariate polynomial equation, thus all available solutions are obtained. effectiveness tested some examples commonly test functions, namely ex, sin(x), tan(x) ln(x), developed computer program. This gives lower than traditional methods kinematics literature.
